Should we rent a car while in Las Vegas?
If you stay on the central Strip, you don't really need to rent a car. Nearly everything you want to see is along the Strip, which is a couple of miles long. (So you do walk a lot).
The Strip gets very busy, so it's actually difficult to use your car.
There is a monorail, see where it goes on the link on my site.
There is also a regular bus service along the Strip.
At the very north end of the Strip is the Fremont Street Experience, which requires a car, but there may be buses to it too. You can ask at the reception of your hotel if you find the time to get over to it.
If you book a hotel off-Strip, you will need a car, as the Vegas City blocks are very big and the casinos are quite far away.
The airport is about 2 miles from the Strip, so you will need to organize transportation from there. There are shuttle buses at the airport door and some hotels have their own buses.
If you do rent a car, parking is easy at the back of each casino.
I rarely use my car in Las Vegas, except to drive to the Outlet stores, or Fremont Street.
